About K25
K25 is a raw photo format from older Kodak digital cameras. People use it to keep the original, highest-quality image and then convert it to a common format for easy editing and sharing.
•Great as your original “digital negative,” keeping lots of detail so you can adjust brightness and colors without losing quality.
•Best used as a source file to convert into JPEG, PNG, TIFF, or DNG for everyday use, printing, or editing.
•Read-only: you can open and convert K25 files, but you generally can’t save new files in the .k25 format.
•Usually larger than JPEGs, so they take more storage space.
•Limited compatibility today—many apps won’t open K25 directly, so a converter is often needed.
•Choose K25 when you have photos from an old Kodak camera and want maximum quality; choose JPEG or PNG for quick sharing.
