About XCF
XCF is the working project file used by GIMP, a free image editing app. Use it when you want to keep your image fully editable with layers, text, and effects while you work.
•Great for editing: keeps layers, text, and effects so you can make changes later.
•Not ideal for sharing: many apps and websites don’t accept XCF files.
•Often larger in size than common image formats like JPG or PNG.
•Best to export or convert to PNG or JPG for sharing online, or to PDF/TIFF for printing.
