Convert to VIFF

VIFF is an older image format from the Khoros Visualization system, mostly seen in scientific or engineering work. You’d use it to open or convert legacy research images and then save them to a more common format for easy viewing and sharing.

• •Rare and not widely supported today, so many everyday apps won’t open it.
• •Good for conversion: open the .viff file and save to PNG or TIFF for best quality, or JPEG for a smaller file.
• •Some special details from the original file may not carry over perfectly, so check the converted image.
• •Files can be larger than typical web images, so it’s not ideal for email or social media.
• •Best choice only if you’re dealing with old lab or research files; for regular use, stick with PNG or JPEG.
• •If your software supports it, you can both open and save VIFF files (read and write).
